On arrival, you will be greeted by tour guide at Suvarnabhumi Airport and taken to your hotel for check in.

Explore the dazzling Grand Palace consisted of several great architectures, well-preserved over many dynasties in the past. Also, visit Wat Phra Kaew, Bangkok’s most sacred temple, where the world’s most precious Emerald Buddha located.

Today, visit the former capital Ayutthaya, a historic city awarded UNESCO World Heritage status for the splendor of its archaeological ruins and temples. Contemplate the ruins of this once vast island city including Wat Yai Chaimongkhon, Wat Phanan Choeng and Wat Mahathat. Hop on a traditional long tail boat and observe the city’s ruins from a different perspective. After lunch, check-in to your hotel in Phitsanulok.

After breakfast, leave from hotel, made a quick break at Wat Mahathat in Phitsanulok and visit the magnificent Phra Buddha Chinnarat. Then head to Lampang by minivan or bus to visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. Climb the staircase to admire the bronze Buddha statue. Have lunch before travelling to Chiang Mai for check-in to your hotel.

After breakfast, you visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of northern Thailand’s most sacred temples located at the top of a mountain. To reach the temple, you’ll have to climb up a 309-step staircase (or simply use cable car – included). Later on, there’s some fun shopping at San Kamphaeng Road, a 10km-long road selling lots of local goods such as pottery, silverware, lacquer ware, handmade paper, sculptures, jewellery, wood carvings and silk products. You can also watch the artisans at work. After lunch in a local restaurant, we return to your hotel and you may spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Depart Chiang Mai for Lamphun. On arrival, you’ll visit the magnificent, one-thousand-year-old Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Temple to see the Buddha statues and impressive stupas, which include 46-metretall Lanna-style golden chedi and the 21-metre-tall Haripunchai-style chedi. We continue our trip to the south and visit Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which contains the ruins of the ancient capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom founded in the 13th century.

Depart for Lopburi after breakfast for a visit to Phra Pang Sam Yot, the ruins of the ancient Khmer temple, and the adjacent Brahman shrine San Phra Kan, which is known as the ‘Monkey Temple’. Have lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to Bangkok for check-in at your hotel.

You are free today and get ready for a flight to Hanoi – the Capital of Vietnam.

Upon arrival to the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in

After breakfast, you will have a bustling day to visit a city tour of Hanoi and will explore attractions such as the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda) and Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam. Following that, you will go to AVG Food & Beverage, one of Asia Vacation Group’s stores. You will learn about the various types of beef imported from Australia and how to be sold to Vietnamese customers here. Enjoy a free soft drink/beer or wine tasting when you visit. Lunch is included in this day.

Optional tour: Half-Day Guided Tour Australian Beef with Wine Tasting & Rickshaw in Hanoi

At one of Hanoi’s authentic restaurants, you will be able to taste the difference of Australian beef prepared and wine tasting by the talented hands of local chefs.

When you join this program, you will enjoy dishes prepared in a special Vietnamese style, as well as spices that you can hardly find at home, which is unlike anything you have ever experienced or done before. As a result, it will be ideal if you pair it with the best local red wine or bottles of wine directly imported from Australia.

We believe that when you return home, you will realize that while Australian beef products appear ordinary, they are produced and used in a very unique way in another country.

Timing: 3, 5 – 4 hour

Today you will travel by coach through the rich farm land of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty. Upon arrival, you will board you ship to visit the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene that blends into the sky. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs.

Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands, a sight not to be missed! Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy a light lunch before heading back to shore. Your driver will then meet you at the Halong jetty for your drive back to Hanoi.

Today, get ready for your transfer for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival you will be met by our tour guide.

Continue visiting Ho Chi Minh City (formerly name Saigon) with highlights such as: take photo outside Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, visit War Remnant Museum and soaking up the atmosphere at Ben Thanh market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.

Optional tour: Dinner on Saigon River Cruise

Dinner on Saigon River Cruise offers an opportunity to witness another side of Saigon. The city is not only a bustling metropolis but also a romantic land. Hop on a huge wooden barge and sail down the river. Feel the gentle breeze caressing your skin and enjoy a lovely dinner accompanied by the traditional music and dance performances.
Allotment on cruise is the subject to change. Please check availability when requested.

You will realise quickly why cruising along the Mekong Delta on a boat should be on everyone’s bucket list when travelling to Vietnam.
It is called “The Rice Bowl of Vietnam” because it offers a wide selection of cultural activities including local handcraft and coconut pressing workshops with villagers, cycling through lush rice fields along the water, as well as some down-time chilling in a hammock.
You will also be treated to an authentic lunch.
<!–Mekong Delta is known as “The Rice Bowl of Vietnam” and offers a real experience to the tropical culture of locals. This trip will take you to visit local workshops, a handicraft village and get a unique experience with local activities. Be ready to sail through the coconut trees and take a nap on a hammock in a garden filled with bird chirps and fresh breeze.
You will be picked up at your hotel then take a 1.5-hour transfer to Ben Tre River. Embark on a cruise to brickwork, a coconut processing workshop and a local village making sleep mattresses along the Mekong Delta. Continue taking a motor cart (xe loi) or cycling through the green rice fields and vegetable plains. After lunch, get back to Hung Vuong Pier for returning to Saigon.

Immerse yourself in history as if you were actually there when you visit authentic Vietnam-US War sites such as the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels. Catch a glimpse of real tanks as well as crawl through tunnels and trap doors like a real soldier located in Saigon.
Learn what it was actually like to be in combat during this time and walk away from the tour more enlightened.

Fine Print

  • Airline: Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Vietnam Airlines or similar (23kg for checked baggage per passenger and 7kg hand luggage per passenger, 01-piece check-in baggage.
  • Some flights will require a minimum of 1 transit (maximum 2).
  • All tickets will include 23 kilos checked baggage per person, along with 7 kilos of hand luggage.
  • Despite the airlines baggage allowance, we recommend travelling with 20 kilos per person due to restrictions with internal flights (where applicable), as well as coach and train transportation. Also, you will be responsible for handling your luggage at all times as the services of porters is not included. If travelling over this amount, you will be liable for any excess baggage fees enforced by the airline, payable direct.
  • Once ticketed, flights are non-refundable. Any changes will be subject to the airline rules and change fees.
  • Full names as per passport (including all middle names) are required.
  • Any airline schedule changes or cancellations are beyond our control.

A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Tipping is AU$10/person per day. Tipping is collected by agent before travelling or the day of your arrival.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.

For Thailand, Australian passport holders may stay in Thailand as a tourist without a visa up to 30 days. Visa on arrival is available.

A visa is required for travel to Vietnam. The visa is easiest to complete with Asia Vacation Group and just need to pay $160 for single entry (30-day-stay-limited)

Final documentation, including e-tickets and hotel details, will be provided approximately 30 days prior to travel.

Tour Length
The total length of the tour in days includes time spent in flight and is subject to change depending on the flight schedule, please refer to the day by day itinerary for the time spent on land.
