Kanchanaburi & the River Kwai
The province of Kanchanaburi in Thailand is best known for its horrors of World War II’s Death Railway. Start off the trip with a cruise down the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi Province and learn more about the turbulent history of the eminent 300m-long Death Railway, which cost thousands of labourers’ lives in the past. Afterwards, proceed to the war cemetery and a reconstructed POW camp where over thousands of war prisoners lived and worked to build the Death Railway until their last breath. Finally, enjoy the train ride across the River Kwai Bridge, a part of the original Death Railway.
