Overview
Boarding a high-speed catamaran to cruise through sparkling turquoise waters to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, visiting the fascinating Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, experience the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and later board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. The tour takes you to travel through man-made tunnels, across bridges to arrive at the final destination, Freshwater Station

Day 2: Great Barrier Reef
After a 2-hour motorised sail on board the 32-metre sailing Catamaran, Ocean Spirit, you will arrive at Michaelmas Cay where there is so much to see and do. Enjoy snorkelling in the cay’s protected shallow waters, try an introductory scuba dive in the fringing reefs, cruise in the semi-sub for a diver’s view of the reef, watch the fish feeding presentation, observe the bird life or just chill out on Ocean Spirit’s spacious decks or on the beach. A tropical lunch served on the deck. Throughout the day, the ‘beach buggy shuttle’ will transfer you between Ocean Spirit and the beach.

Day 3: Kuranda – Scenic Railway & Skyrail
On arrival at Freshwater Station, board the Kuranda Scenic Railway for a historical rail journey enjoying breathtaking views across the cane fields of Cairns and the tropical rainforest. Wind through hand-hewn tunnels, across bridges and curves, all the time appreciating this amazing engineering feat. In Kuranda, it’s time to explore this fascinating village. The Heritage Markets are full of colourful and interesting arts and crafts. You might also like to visit Birdworld, the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary or Kuranda Koala Gardens (own expense). Later, board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your 7.5km journey over and through World Heritage protected rainforest to Smithfield. Your 90-minute iconic rainforest experience showcases ancient rainforest and spectacular views, with time at both Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations for education and interpretation.

How to Extend Your Stay
Some customers like to enhance their holiday by extending their stay before/behind and/or post-tour. $200 per person is applied for trip extension or early arrivals.
If you wish to do so, please follow these steps:

The additional cost for these land arrangements will be added to your final payment invoice, due 90 days prior to departure, and is strictly subject to availability.
Important Information
Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. For the services of your guide, it is suggested that you budget for AUD$10-20 per person, per day. Tipping of your driver is also appreciated and we would suggest AUD$5 per person, per day.
As this particular tour does not collect a ‘kitty’, it is entirely up to the individual whether or not you would like to tip locals for the services of things like taxis or when dining at restaurants. In these cases, we suggest you allow 10-20% of the value of the service as a tip. Again, it is not compulsory and entirely up to the individual.

The accommodation listed is subject to change. Any changes will be of an equal or higher standard. Bedding configurations (double or twin) are requests only. All efforts will be made to meet your preferences however any changes are beyond our control.
