Day 2: Hanoi
Halong Bay
After breakfast, you’ll travel by coach through the rich farm land of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular array of islands, dotted with wind and wave eroded grottoes, is a wonder to behold.
On arrival you board a ship to view the thousands of limestone islands and their caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding across the clear emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene. You‘ll also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs.

Day 3: Halong Bay
Hanoi
Early risers may like to participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. A sight not to be missed- especially if you are into photography. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands. Return to the junk for breakfast, then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay.
In the afternoon our driver will meet you at the Halong Jetty to drive you back to Hanoi.

Enjoy a walk around the Old Quarter in the afternoon and have a taste of Northern Vietnamese delicacies such as stuffed pancake, Banh My, stuffed sticky rice balls, the unique egg coffee and many more.
Day 4: Hanoi City Tour
Hue
Today we take a city tour of Hanoi to explore attractions such as the Temple of Literature,
Vietnam’s first university, Ho Chi Minh Complex – Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (photo stop only),
One Pillar Pagoda and Tran Quoc Pagoda (one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam).
Later you’ll board a short flight to Hue.
On arrival, you’ll be met at Hue airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 5: Hue City Tour
Today we visit the Imperial Citadel. This was the center of power for the Nguyen Dynasty who ruled between 1802 and 1945. Here, we will visit Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Tripod Cauldrons, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and the Forbidden Purple City.
Later, you’ll be boarding a boat for a wonderful trip on the Perfume River and a visit to Thien Mu pagoda.

Day 6: Hue
Hoi An
Today, leave Hue behind you as you make your way to Hoi An. Today’s trip takes you over the famous Hai Van Pass which crosses over a spur of the Annamite Range that emerges from the west and juts into the South China Sea, forming the Hai Van Peninsula and the adjoining Son Tra
Island. The pass, which once formed the boundary between the kingdoms of Dai Viet and Champa, also forms a boundary between the climates of northern and southern Vietnam, sheltering the city of Danang from the “Chinese winds” that blow in from the northwest. During the winter months (November– March), for instance, weather on the north side of the pass might be wet and cold, while the south side might be warm and dry.
On the other side of the pass, you will be transferred to the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An. As an important trading route during the 15 th to 19 th centuries, Hoi An is now a unique blend of culture, cuisine and architecture. Step back in time as you wander the narrow streets of this charming former trading port, with its ancient covered bridges and temples.

Day 7: Hoi An City Tour
In the morning, there’s a guided tour to explore Hoi An on foot which takes in a visit to an old merchant’s home; Hoi An Market; a local Chinese temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge – the bridge was first constructed in the 1590s by the Japanese community to link them with the Chinese quarters. Over the centuries the ornamentation has remained relatively faithful to the original Japanese design. The French flattened out the roadway for cars, but the original arched shape was restored in 1986.

My Son sanctuary, a great sample of ancient Champa civilization situated in the southern region of Vietnam. Stand astounded by a great number of exquisite stone sculptures, temples and towers nestled in a tropical jungle.

Day 8: Hoi An
Free day at leisure – continue exploring the Ancient Quarter or head to the beach/swimming pool for relaxing.

Day 10: Nha Trang
Islands and Snorkeling Tour
Today you’ll enjoy a day island hopping around Nha Trang stunning islands and beaches. First stop is Tri Nguyen Aquarium on Mieu Island, home to many sea species of Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa province. Mieu Island is the best island for snorkelling where you can see lots of colorful coral and fish. You will also be able to see caves in which the sea swallows make their nests from the boat. Then you have the opportunity to relax, swim or do some water sports at Mot Island, Tranh Beach Island or on a small island called “Mini beach”. Lunch is enjoyed on this island. On the way back you’ll visit a fishing village before arriving to the shore and transferred back to your hotel.

You’ll be transferred for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City today. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 12: Saigon
Cu Chi Tunnels
City Tour
After breakfast, we continue on to Cu Chi Tunnels. During the Vietnam War, guerrilla fighters built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels, using them to hide in during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction, giving visitors a unique understanding of what life was like during the Vietnam War.
In the afternoon, you will have a half day tour of Ho Chi Minh City with highlights such as: visit War Remnant Museum, take photo outside Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, and soaking up the atmosphere at Ben Thanh market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.

Discover Saigon’s nightlife on the back of a vintage Vespa scooter. Enjoy your amazing night by whisking away the city and stop by some shops to taste Saigon’s best authentic local food.
Day 13: Cai Be

Tra On
A definite highlight of the tour is this boat cruise on the Mekong visiting local villages of Can Tho, Cho Lach and Tra On.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel a taken to the boat for a welcome drink and check-in to your cabin.
Along the way, depending on the river tide, you’ll have the opportunity to disembark for some pleasant walking or biking on the footpaths by the riverside to discover tropical fruit orchards and the local activities. The cruise continues on to Tra On. Enjoy the magnificent sunset on the river. Leisurely cruise up the Mekong River while enyoying the beautiful scenery and the aperitifs.

Day 14: Tra On
Can Tho
Saigon
Awake to the sounds from the nearby floating market. After breakfast, we’ll leisurely cruise up the river while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
On arrival at Can Tho, a small boat will take you explore the Cai Rang market, one of the most bustling floating markets in the Mekong Delta, with its hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space as owners attempt to sell their goods.
Later, we disembark for the car trip back to Saigon.

Dinner on Saigon river cruise offers an opportunity to witness another side of Saigon. Enjoy the river breeze gently caressing your skin, together with renowned Vietnamese delicacies which guarantee to make your evening unforgettable.
Day 16: Siem Reap
Angkor Temples
Spend a full day discovering the mystical Angkor temples. Your day starts with a visit to Angkor
Wat, then we will visit the ancient Ta Prohm Monastery.
In the afternoon, visit Angkor Thom (the Great City) beginning by the south gate and the famous Bayon of the 12th and 13th centuries. Then, journey to the Elephant Terrace and the raised Leper King Terrace, built in the 12th century and which features many beautifully sculptured Apsaras.

Day 17: Siem Reap
Phnom Penh
You are free time at leisure in the morning before your journey by public bus to Phnom Penh. Spend
your six-hour-driving through the rice fields on the road also. Late afternoon, you arrive in
Phnom Penh and check in your hotel.

Hop on a private boat to Tonle Sap Lake and visit unique villages with gardens, market, and restaurants all floating on water.
Day 18: Phnom Penh
This morning, there’s a not-to-be-missed Phnom Penh city tour to The Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, Wat Ounalom and Central Market. You’ll see the location where international journalists camped out in 1975 on the eve of the Khmer Rouge takeover, and the burnt-out and bullet-holed building that has been left as it stood after the war.
Later on, continue on to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime. Then it’s on to Choeung Ek, made famous by the movie The Killing Fields, to learn about the atrocities that took place here. After this rather somber chapter on Cambodian history, to end your journey today, you will have a chance to lighten the mood and taste some Khmer snacks.

How to Extend Your Stay
Arriving early/Extending your trip: From $200 per person is applied for trip extension or early arrivals (subject to availability and applicable fare difference). Visa & Passport information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 4 blank pages.
Australian passport holder is required to have a visa for travel to Vietnam. The visa is easiest to complete with Asia Vacation group and just need to pay AUD160 for Vietnam visa single entry.
Once approved, please ensure that you travel with the following documentation as they are required to present to customs upon arrival into the country.

For Cambodia, you will obtain your visa when crossing the border from Vietnam to Cambodia. The cost of the Cambodian Visa is around USD$37 per person .
Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Please be advised that tipping for tour guides, drivers and bellmen are required and will be collected by your travel consultant 7 days before you depart. A gratuity of 10AUD per person/day can make a big difference to locals employed in the tourism industry as they have done an impeccable job to serve you through your holiday.
